  • General Responsibilities

    The Safety and Security Data Analyst reports directly to the VP Global Security, Fraud, and Safety and is responsible for providing analysis to be used in the implementation, deployment and continuous improvement of Hertz safety and security operations. By capitalizing on industry knowledge, the successful candidate will provide guidance to support and/or ensure reliable operation and long-term sustainability of S&S programs and tools. This position will hold primary responsibility for ongoing and day-to-day provision of S&S data and analytics and serve as a central point-of-contact for S&S data needs

    • Prepare, update, or assist in the development of Safety Assessment Reports, Hazard Analyses, and Safety Risk Assessments
    • Perform robust data analysis to ensure efficient and accurate reporting and compliance with various federal, state and local regulatory requirements
    • Utilize statistical techniques to identify trends or patterns in complex data sets from various sources or systems to proactively identify risks
    • Assist with the development and implementation of databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality of data
    • Monitor data anomalies, evaluate data integrity issues and propose solutions.
    • Actively participate in formal and informal communication to increase and enhance the understanding and awareness of metrics.
    • Verify data accuracy for regulatory reports including, analysis findings and visual representation of the data for internal reporting e.g., pie charts, pivot tables, etc.
    • Engage in Data Management Processes contributing to process improvements.
    • Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
    • Document and follow up on actions and decisions from project meetings.
    • Compile reports to convey performance of the business.
    • Monitor security data using industry tools and proprietary information; identify and monitor trends
    • Create data platforms and tools for use by the Security Organization
    • Write queries, perform ad hoc data analysis, and create data visualizations for security teams, including by not limited to, travel security, physical security and internal investigations
    • Build and maintain dashboards and other data visualizations of complex data sets and calculations
    • Formulate best practices for integrating security, health and safety, and operational data, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization
    • Collaborate closely with internal investigations; identify data-driven opportunities to predict and prevent future security issues and/or incidents
    • Collaborate with the security team to constantly improve analytic standards, workflows, and success metrics and develop/improve analytic products as appropriate

    Mandatory Requirements

    • Minimum of 3+ years managing, analyzing and reporting on large datasets;
    • Exceptional communication skills; demonstrated success effectively delivering data driven conclusions
    • Proven track record managing multiple projects, and the ability to flex quickly as required by evolving corporate priorities
    • Collaborative work style and strong people skills
    • Ability to balance attention to detail with a sense of urgency, and the need to, at times, execute quickly
